Michael: I told Blake that I loved him so much, so he asked, "Do you love Michael so much? And Michael replied
"Of course she does. If mom didn't love me, I'd just be a rock or something."
Blake: Blake came out of the bathroom a few days ago and handed me his Spiderman underwear and announced
"I don't want to wear this underwear anymore. It makes my feet too hot."
Ellie: The rest of us were in the boys room getting ready for the day and Ellie came up from downstairs, walked in the room, giving us all "the hand" and announced
"Guys, guys, stop talking. You're being me a headache." (seriously, she's 25 months. . . )
Dave: Saturday afternoon Dave decided to share with me his thoughts from his run earlier that day. An apparent former high school physics ace, he spent a greater portion of his run trying to calculate the required position of his head that, at a certain speed, would enable him to spit with the farthest trajectory. I was mostly uninterested and slightly confused (having never taken Phsyics), so I kept blowing him off while I focused on getting my mediocre dinner on the table. The conversation continued to dinner where Dave was enlightening me with the necessary rotation of the head for the spit-distance award, when I looked over and yowled, "Ellie, no spitting milk on the floor." It took us a moment or two to realize that she had taken a long sip of milk, while listening to our conversation, rotated her head to the side, and spit, just as we had described.

Don't you love how children choose only to listen when you say the one thing you didn't really want them to hear!
I love how Dave is trying to figure out a system for running. Troy is working on Chi walking, and driving us all crazy with his theories!
Shelby - we found you through Denise! Yea for Blogs!
I love the way kids think! (Especially yours!) You really should start training Ellie - it sounds like she has the concentration and dedication to go far in the wide world of spitting - she may even become a world record holder if you only give her the chance!
Your kids are so cute and funny. I'm glad I got to meet them all. Shelby I tagged you. Go check out my blog.
I love that michael would be a rock or something. isn't it so true and humbling to think about the responsablility we have as mothers to show acceptance and love!? I think I'll put that one in my back pocket and pull it out when I need to remember...a rock or something. that's just awesome.
and I need to hear how to spit the right way. the other day on my run I had a very humiliating spit experience.
{this is Brooke} That little Ellie. My parents always used to say "little corns have big ears". They are always listening!
