My friend Wendy "the Waz" tagged me, probably because she was talking about being tagged when we hung out at Christmas, and being a neophyte blogger, I had never heard of it. Here we go. . .
A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
10 years ago (Jan 1998) I was in my last semester at BYU, seriously wondering what I was going to do with my life.
5 things on my to-do list today:
1. Go to the library
2. Make banana bread with the two rotting bananas on my counter
3. Make a reservation for a condo in Tahoe next week. (Yeah for Dave for taking time off work and 5 feet of powder!)
4. Practice a Bach Concerto to accompany a violinist on Sunday. I just got the music today because the previous violinist can't straighten her thumbs. Hope that doesn't happen to me. . .
5. Watch Project Runway
snacks I enjoy:
1. Cheez Its (but only the day after the box is opened)
2. Popcorn (had it for lunch yesterday)
3. Is diet Coke a snack?
4. Hot Dogs from Costco
5. Hostess Donuts (in any variety) Hmmm, I'm hungry all of a sudden
things I would do if I were a billionaire:
1. Buy my husband a nice car (but not too nice)
2. Go back to school and get another degree (probably in music)
3. Buy a boat and waterski (another one for you, Dave)
4. Finally belong to a nice gym with a good childcare
3 of my bad habits:
1. Staying up late watching TV when Dave is out of town
2. Putting things that I pick up around the house in my back pocekts
3. Making up new words to annoying songs like "Step in Time" from Mary Poppins and singing it incessantly
5 places I have lived:
1. Alamo, CA
2. Philadelphia, PA
3. Cambridge, MA
4. London
5. Minneapolis, MN
5 jobs I have had:
1. SAT/GRE Prep teacher
2. Drama and Dance teacher at a boarding school in Western Massachusetts
3. Frozen Yogurt Schlepper at Hogi Yogi in Provo, UT (thank you Brooke and Amy)
4. Massachusetts Department of Education
5. Tutor: I worked with this pilot program for the State of UT, tutoring high school delinquents that were in their homes, but had those ankle monitors. It was. . . interesting (Shouts out to Emily and Whitney who were there too if you're reading)
5 things people don't know about me:
1. My natural hair color. Come to think of it, I'm not sure that I know it either. . .
2. I never, NEVER, listen to a complete voicemail. I ALWAYS delete it halfway through. I'm very impatient.
3. When I was young, I loved to cook and even do the dishes and I would pretend I had my own TV show and would narrate what I was doing while I looked at my reflection in the kitchen window. The name of my cooking show was "It's in the Oven--the world of microwave cooking" which is strange because the only thing I ever made was cookies (which are baked in an oven).
4. I have a million regrets and have always wished that I could be EXCELLENT at something, instead of passably mediocre at many (usually insignificant) things. I still wish I could be in the Olympics. Maybe if they add a new sport of "parallel parking while drinking a Big Gulp and talking on the phone" I could have a chance. I am an awesome parallel parker (except for 6 days after we got our minivan and I tried to park in Georgetown on a Friday at rush hour in a hurry to catch the Potomac River Boat Cruise.)
5. I still consider myself a dancer, even though that was at least 12 years and three kids ago. When I watch "So you think you can Dance" there is still a part of me that thinks I could do it. I don't think that part of me is either my bones or my muscles, so I am not sure how helpful it would be in my efforts to re-enter the world of bun-heads.
I tag Denise, Amanda, Ang, Cari, and Emma

5.you ARE excellent at so many things! I can't even believe you don't know that about yourself! You have always been one of my biggest inspirations.
6.yes, I voted. first thing I did after I took abby to school. I represented, baby. and I was dissappointed...hillary and mccain?!? what kind of choice would that be come November?
love you.
I still consider you a dancer too, and I know you could do that show!
You are welcome for your HoYo experience. Don't you think it has changed your life in visible, obvious ways?? he he. I loved reading all those things bc it totally helped me remember you and bring it all back. It's been a long time since I've seen you. You're so fun Shelby! {this is Brooke}
I agree with Brooke. Reading your posts makes me miss you! They also make me laugh so hard I almost wet my pants...my husband keeps wondering what I'm laughing at.
Sometimes I wish we could have been younger when the reality shows came out in full force. I could definately see you on that show.
That's funny that you used to pretend you had a cooking show. I can imagine right where you'd be standing and which window you'd be looking in.
I still think of myself as a dancer too Shelb. Yesturday I was having a dance party with my girls and I attempted a triple pirouette in my kitchen. Ashley was still pretty impressed although I fell on my bum after the second turn. It made me dizzy. Have you ever thought about if you could put on pointe shoes again? I do. And I still have bad dreams about ballet performances or Cougarettes about once a week.
