Snipets

#1
So, I'm getting a bit of dental work done today, requiring the removal of my fake front teeth for the day. I still have the middle two, which look a bit "buck" with no companions.
In the car, Blake told me that I look like Mater.

He's right.

Yesterday we were shopping at Trader Joes, which recently added kid-sized shopping carts for your grocery pleasure (or nightmare). Blake and Ellie were both pushing carts, pretending to talk on cell phones. Ellie prefers the "make a fake phone with your fingers" method while Blake employs a "hold an imaginary phone to your ear using your shoulder" technique.

I heard a bit of Blake's conversation: "Yeah. . . No, he's at school. . . I'm just calling to tell you to vote Yes on 8."

Dave and Michael shared a quiet bonding moment over a late-night bowl of cereal the other night, and Dave was talking to him about how blessed we are.  Michael looked very pensive as Dave talked about some of our blessings, then added:
"Dad, you were extra blessed in arm hair. . . It's almost like hair grew all over your arm, and then more hair grew out of that hair."

Watch out, you are seeing your future, Michael.

This is great- all 4 of my kids love those little shopping carts too and it's a nightmare- they run into my ankles and I end up screaming at them in the middle of the aisle. Then, they sneak stuff in their carts and I'm too annoyed to care.

That reminds me of when Carlie asked Dave if he wanted to be called "Unibrow" or "Hairy Legs". Or the time Macey told Ted "Daddy, you might be furry but I still love you."
Or there was elementary school when the kids called me "Wolf Girl" because of my hairy arms!
I've always thought it was a curse. I'm glad that Michael thinks it's a blessing.

That'll be Cami someday with her two fake teeth next to her two front. I hope it'll be as unnoticeable as it is on you.

I love hearing what kinds of blessings my kids are thankful for.
